Whether for breakfast, lunch treat or sweet snack, strawberry cream cheese sandwiches fit the occasion and are delicious.
Strawberry Cream Cheese Sandwiches
Per sandwich:
1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar (or ½ teaspoon honey)
¼ tsp. vanilla
2 fresh strawberries, sliced
Raisin bread, toasted or not toasted
Stir the first three ingredients together until smooth. Add the sliced strawberries and gently mix. Toast the bread if desired then spread the strawberry cream cheese mixture on the bread.
Decrease the powdered sugar for less sweetness and more cream cheese taste.
For a ladies’ tea, trim the crust from a few sandwiches, arrange on a platter and present as dainty finger foods.
